6 port carb set up!?!?!?

I was wondering where do you guys find set ups for 6 ports? I can't seem to find any anywhere. Can anybody tell me anygood sites or other places I can go to buy one? Thanks, Josh.

For 2-barrel sidedraft dellorto, weber, mikuni, SU (yikes) etc, you can go with a custom upper manifold from racing beat and a gsl-se or FC lower (depending on the motor you're matching to). 4-barrel and downdraft carbs need a single manifold and can be had from all those places named above. Racing Beat and Mazdatrix will likely have what you need straight from a catalog and on your doorstep in 2 days, if needed.

I'm using the Racing Beat 6port Holley manifold.

At atkinsrotary it say they have a wrap around manifold and a side draft manifold, what is the difference? There is a difference between $25 and 8 pounds. The sidedraft is 250 at 4 pounds. The wrap around is 275 at 12 pounds.

Anybody kow the difference? ^^^^

The side-draft is the design that Lake Cities used to make. Unless you have a good bit of fender clearance (or don't want your engine in the middle of the car), it's a tight fit. Basically, your side-draft is inline with the ports, sticking straight out into the fender. The wrap-around usually reuses your lower manifold and allows for easier packaging and servicability and longer runners for more torque.

So I guess my question now is, is the wrap around a one piece manifold or do I also have to use my stock lower manifold?

Crit 03-15-06 02:32 PM

Well, different folks sell different things, but I've only ever seen 2-piece wrap-arounds that used the stock lower manifold. RB sells a lower for 4-port motors (12A or 13B) and has the same flange pattern as the stock 13B 6-port lower, for either S3 or S4 lowers. The upper is common to all setups, whether 4 or 6-port, 12A or 13B.

You'll need to reuse your lower. You can pull the sleeves out of it (or replace w/ Pineapple Racing's sleeves) if you want, or reuse the actuators.
