20B + Trans??? question

Hi guys,
I'm a n00b on here and I own a Ford and a Chevy, so take it easy on me. I am in the process of doing R&D on a project I've been kicking around for a while. I want to put a 20B in what will essentially be a Karmann Ghia. I'm looking for a transaxle to mate up with the 20B. I saw a DeLorean for sale a while back with a 20B and a Porsche 6-speed. I've been trying to find any info and/or parts and have come up with nil. Anyone got any info or other ideas?

Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the wonderful world of rotary engines :D
I know some firms make adapter plates for mating a rotary engine to a VW Beetle transaxle, but I think that using a 20b on such a gearbox might be a bit too much power for the box.
The 20B Delorean might aswell have had a custom bellhousing or adaptor-plate. Some UK firms (probable possible in the US too) will build custom adaptor plates for almost any engine to the common transaxles (Renault, Porsche...) so they should be able to make one for a 20b to Porsche box. Won't be cheap, but the whole project doesn't sound cheap anyway ;)
Maybe you should check kit-car magazines for firms who can help?

Well, I found a place that ought to help out.

www.kennedyeng.com

"We manufacture 60 different kits to fit 100 different engines to rear engine Volkswagen or 911 & 914 Porsche"

Thought that was pretty neat. Figured I'd share.

Thanks!
