1977 Mazda Repu Project.

Just bought myself a 77 Repu. Body had a bunch of dings and rust spots. Interior is great and nearly complete, all glass is great. Engine appears to be the original with the K5 housings.
I will need to rewire a bunch of stuff and replace the gas line. All in all I am happy to be back to owning a Rotary. Now just to figure out what I can remove from the engine bay.
It has a racing beat header and aftermarket exhaust, so the air pump is gone. Wires got chewed up from sitting about 8 years. Pictures to come.

Where is a good place to get info? Mazdarepu which I used to frequent seems to be offline. Is there a great source of information I can send some questions to.

Not many around. Check out Mazda Repu Owners Group on Facebook. There are some good references floating around on there.

Same here, I picked up a 75 like a month ago and info isn’t all that easy to find.. I’ve gotten lucky by asking questions randomly on here and Facebook repu groups.

took me nearly a year to get approved into the group. The guy who runs it on Facebook isn’t active at all. If you have questions just post them here most of us are here and can help you out.

The FB group and this site is a great resource for most information. I was added to that group in under 2-3 days, shouldnt be too difficult to be included.

I had my REPU completely rewired using an aftermarket base harness - I was paranoid though. I believe i have it documented in my old build thread - good luck on the project.

Just an update, my truck now starts easily still smokes some as I haven't burnt off all the old crud. I had planned on running it as much as possible but I sprung a leak, so I need to replace the radiator hoses.
Once that's done I will find a different set of wheels and freshen up the brake/clutch systems and hope that it becomes drivable.

I've been in the group for a number of years, every 6 months or so I try to get the moderator's attention to make me an admin so I can police it. I think someone actually created a second group because they got fed up with him. I'm in both now LOL. You may also want to join the "1st gen rx7" facebook group as there is lots of knowledgable people on there when it comes to carbureted rotaries and other non-truck-specific things.

The MazdaREPU forum is still alive. Searching for what you need is a little difficult but most of the info you need specific to the truck is on there. The questions have been asked and answered, you just need to find them.

And of course, Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals has the workshop manuals in PDF format for you to download. Use that as your primary starting point.
