Its back running again, fresh engine , correct year parts except for the nitrited steel. New apex seals , o-rings and clutch. Now to get all the emissions back to original and working (this is a 1977, one of 400 or so) get the brakes working, put on the correct year front bumper ect. Someone may want to restore this in the future.

Congrats on getting it running. Does it have tripple points?

Ah yes, I remember working on Hitachi carbs. What you have there is a later model than what I had. Mine was a 76 spec with the 22mm primaries, the main air bleeds were 60 pri and 90 sec, and the fuel jets were 100 pri and 130 sec. It also had a leather accel pump plunger which was prone to wearing out. The reason for mine being this way was due to the reverse runner manifold mine had. Yours appears to have an NO-spec carb and normal runner manifold (black rubber accel pump plunger too). I bet it has a very crisp tip-in which was a very nice touch on this type of manifold and carb combo.

this is a 1977 , completely stock. no reverse runner manifold. I believe that was also the original motor 70k on the car
