13B Series 5 Porsche 914
3 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,
New member here! Im in the midst of doing a 13B swap in a Porsche 914 (see pics). Ive been poking around rx7 club for a few months now and figured I should start a thread. Things done so far: -engine rebuilt/ported (shoutout to Banzai Racing) -Kennedy Engineered adapter plate/clutch/pressure plate -BNR stage 3 turbo At this point in time, I was hoping I could get advice on what size injectors I should run. Im aiming for around 300hp at the crank. IIRC I was told to get some ID1000cc injectors, opinions? Thanks, -Kyle |

I second that , I love the 914 and with a rotary it will be that much better .

Very cool, I am just finishing up a rotary Bugeye Sprite and just purchased a WRX converted 914. 300 HP will make it a fun car. What are you doing for cooling?

Take a look at Renegade Hybrids conversion, seems to work the best from all of the info I have read. Members Only

i noticed the cage and slicks and figured it was autox.
4x ID1000s should be plenty, but fwiw i have no direct experience with them. that BNR Stage 3 may not be the best for autox, and maybe in a few seasons time you change it out for an internally gated EFR unit. the ID1000s should still be able to support that. |

And I was told that I needed to worry about boost creep cuz our exhaust will be really short (rear mid engine car). And using the original turbo made oil/ water lines easy. |
The BNR should have a ported wastegate. You can install four 1000cc, or you could stay with 550cc primary and install 2000cc secondaries for the same price and have more area to expand and it would be easier to get the car idling correctly from a beginners standpoint.

Hi all,
Just an update to the build. We got the turbo back this week :) So we mounted lower intake manifold, turbo, and our new radiator! Side note: We 3D printed a new shift knob, cuz the old one didnt have the correct shift pattern :/ -Kyle |
Good gosh, so good.

Hi all,
this past weekend we got the oil system "almost" finished up. Running 2 oil coolers in series. We made the exhaust "system" lol its about 3ft of pipe. Probably going to put a chrome tip on it to make it look nice. Cheers, -Kyle |
Update 2/7/16

Hi all,
just another update to the build. So we've got the electric fans mounted and made a coolant overflow tank. The oil system is done. The upper radiator hose might get redone to make some room for intercooler piping (intercooler is mounted behind the seats). We made a fiberglass trunk lid..That's still getting a little body work but is already much lighter than the original steel one. Considering doing the hood as well to shed more weight. -Kyle |
Update 5/17/16
Since last time,
We got the car running (about a month ago)!!! Got the LT9c wired up and the fuel system finalized. We had an issure where the CAS was wired incorrectly :/ We've been baby-ing the car to break in the engine and also just trying to get used to driving it. -Kyle |

My 1st car was a 914. SO fun to drive. A 914/6 is still my dream car.
