1-rotor from 13b
Could you mate together the front housing, one rotor housing, and the rear housing from a 13b and make a 1-rotor engine? You'd obviously need a custom eccentric shaft and counterweights. What else would you need? Would the water pump just work? A custom oil pan would probably need to be made. I guess I should go make friends with some of the Mech-E's around here.
Just toying around ... could make a sweet go-kart. --Ian |
The Atkins Rotary lawn mower is a single rotor from a 13b so yes, it can be done. How much work who knows, but I think you are probably pretty close with your guess of what needs done.

All I need for my single rotor 13B is a short E shaft, short tension bolt set (Atkins sells these items), a gasket set and some sort of intake setup. Oh, I suppose I need three apex seals too. :)

You have a 1-rotor oil pan? Or is no modification needed?

I wish.

I imagine it would almost be easier to set up some kind of dry sump system than to make a new pan. Well, maybe not, but I bet it wouldnt be that much more work.
