WA plates questions from CA resident
Hey Ladies and Gents. I did a quick search for this but didn't see anything so I figured I'd ask you guys. My Sister and Mom live up in the Seattle area and I've been planning on moving up there for a long long while now. Now that school is over I think this week I'm going to get a job offer up there and I have figured out that for giving up my San Diego weather I'll get cheaper rent, my '90 Turbo II won't have to smog as of next year, I can wiggle my way around the law in that I won't have to mount a front plate on my car and a bunch of other things I don't need to rant about right now.
So I have figured that all out but what I haven't been able to work out is how assigning plates works in Washington state. I happened across a set of clean looking 6 digit WA plates at an antique mall in Tucson, AZ of all places. If the DMV in Washinton works like California's DMV then, I can request to use a set of plates I already own. These have a holographic "02" on them when held to the light, so I assume they wouldn't be too old, but does Washington's DMV even allow you to use old plates? I know it's a little silly but... I'd rather run 6 digit plates, so if I can I will.
Let me know if you guys can shine some light on this for me. Thanks!
