turbo builders in our area?

Hey everyone, it's me again.

I am having some major issues getting my turbo made by people online. I don't know what it is, if people think I am just joking with them or what, but no one will build my turbo. It's a simple t04e, .60 compressor, water and oil cooled, .84 divided a/r, with a 3 inch v-band on the rear.

The few people I have found that will do it are saying 2 to 2.5 weeks to build before it ships!! That is not acceptable. I need to find someone locally, (seattle or portland area) that can do this for me.

Does anybody have anyone they would recommend for the job?

Thanks
~Tweak

Maybe contact Turbo Technology in Tacompton... They used to be an HKS dealer as of recently they are no longer on the HKS dealer list. But they seem to be the place everyone goes when they need something "locally"

You could also check HomeMadeTurbo.com and see if anyone there can help you. Lots of handy guys/gals over there

Yup call turbotechnology or alamoturbo in kent.

awesome thanks guys! But it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and get a 60-1 instead. Might be a better idea for the ported RE anyways. :\

BTW : I did call turbotechnology, and they told me a true t4 t04e didn't exist. I became very confused and just wanted to get off the phone with them. I wasn't sure if he was making fun of me or what, but he was saying that a t04b was bigger anyways.. O.o

I donno, maybe I will call them back tomorrow and see what they can do 60-1 wise. The problem is time, I need it asap.

a 60-1 isn't a bad turbo... The RE has large exhaust ports so it should spool up fine and perform efficiently at 12 psi and get you the mid 300hp on pump gas that you're looking for...

well hehe.

I am not trying to sound like a dick, just correcting you. The STOCK RE exhaust ports and exhaust sleeves are smaller and more restrictive than any other stock turbo rotary engine. But I removed the stock sleeves and put in some s4 t2 sleeves.

The stock primary ports are smaller than the stock s5 t2 primary ports, so I had those opened up a little. The stock secondary ports are a little larger, but nothing special.

The real difference seems to be in the intake runners. Those in general are huge. Wow huge, and I had BDC clean up my secondary ports, and from what I can see (with no porting experience) that this baby is going to flow VERY nicely.

I just wanted to get that information out there, so there isn't any misinformation. I DO agree with you now though. It looks like I might have outgrown the t04e, just because of the RE and the slight port work I had done.

From 12 hours of research I have done in the last 24 hours on the 60-1 (t04s) I don't think I will be saddened by the extra lag that much, and it seems to be more efficient between 10-15 psi, where as the t04e starts to fall off past 12.

I am now looking for a 60-1 in hopes that someone will have this one in stock and I will be able to get it sooner.

Thanks for the help again guys!

haha yeah my mistake. My brain was thinking backwards. The RE has large INTAKE ports and a better designed upper and lower intake manifold ;) I know that, it just didn't process in my brain when I made that post lol I've done my research for a hybrid motor I'd like to get built

Yeah, no worries. Happens a lot actually.

I am very unhappy with "Turbo Technology" They never ONCE called me back, and were VERY VERY slow in getting information. I told them I was in a hurry, and they really didn't seem to care.

I ended up getting a 60-1 with .84 divided A/R, with 360 thrust bearing, wet center, v band installed, from peak boost (cheapturbos.com) for $1,100. That was a hit to the pocket book I wasn't trying to get, but that's what I get for waiting so long I guess. Should be here Wednesday.

Yeah, I would have if I would have got it earlier, but I would have no time to rebuild it. :( Thanks though.

kinetic motorsports in canadia is where i got my turbo. I think the turbo that you speak of is something they stock. Their facility is right next door to garrett.
