Sorry i know its not rx7 related, but i cant seem to find any first hand exp on the awesome google........ and it would be nice to know when or if there is an end to the sick feelings!

According to my wife who knows about these things medically, it is a POWERFUL addiction and one that very few people are able to quit without help. Use gum/patch, etc. and stick to a schedule. You can do it and you will be much healthier for it in the long run. Cancer, lung disease, and all the other ailments that follow smoking and the hospital visits that follow are not worth it. Besides, think of all the suspension upgrades you can buy with the former cigarette $.

Quitting tuff, I was forced to quit cold turkey once long ago, was quit for like 5 years and started right back up because I'm a dumb ****. But the physical withdraws only last about 4 days or so, then its just the mental addiction. But that really never goes away. I'm looking into quitting for a few weeks and going for hypnosis to break the habit.

But cigarettes are more addictive than herion from what I've heard. I don't know personally. But I know cigarettes will have you addicted quicker than ****.

good luck is all i can say. i quit once for a long time...... i chain smoked a pack and tossed every butt in a glass of water then i took a swig of the juice. oh yeah, i threw up violently.everytime i thought of a smoke or smelled one it reminded me of that taste. then a few years later and alot of drugs got me smoking again. i've thought about quiting a few times again, but when i'm really ready it will just happen. if its time for you, you will pull through and it will be easy.

we actually invested in one of those 400$ electric cigs today and i tried it... Apparently i am not one who can use those without a reaction (not sure what happened but the doc says no more)... Seems i had an allergic reaction to the pure nicotine, which made me laugh my *** of cause i told him right before those i was going with filter less menthol's in a matter of a few drags and felt nothing...

But i am looking forward to paying off my bitch of a payment on my suburban with the extra money

i figured this would be tough, but i also figured i kicked a ten year meth addiction so it shouldnt be that bad..haha right :-\

I had several chances to kick it when i did some jail and rehab stretches over that ten year period but never seemed to want to, was just forced to and now i cant remember if what i am going through physically is what i did back then as it was more of a detox back then

I was interested in the hypnosis thing, but i also know that is for people who are not sure if they want to be done, i am sure i want to be done, its just i am not sure how long this damn physical withdrawl thing lasts (not mental, i am sure that will be forever).... Comin up on hr 24 in 1 hr and 12mins and i have eaten till i almost puked and cant stop killing people on call of duty online (if theres anyone wanting to go play there i am "rotard wankel") i doubt i will be sleeping tonight as it seems i am to antsy and high strung to....

Thinking about using this antsy ness to go attack the rhd and get some sanding and **** done though...

Yeah thats about where i am at. I did a year in jail and that could have used that to get off them , but i wasnt ready, so i started again and then when i got off drugs i used it as my way to stear from them as "its all i got left" thing... But now i am done and i just cant remember how long it takes for a body to kick the **** out after 20some years of takin it in... So i was just wondering who here might know or be doing it too? I cant imagine swallowing that though, ugh, i had did that with chew once and ....Never again! lol

And thanks for the encouragement arron, but i am more or less just trying to get an idea of how long this physical **** takes to go away as opposed to cheering, i get bashfull and hate it when if feels (even if not) like i am looking for a "pat on the back"

I'm not joking about this, but use it as a reason to generate new habits that are considered healthy. Running, biking, sex with your wife, wrenching on the car, killing child molesters, etc. Once you've associated the addictive mindset with another activity maybe it will be easier to dis-associate it with a cigarette.

Disclaimer: I'm not a psychologist, I'm a car guy... not even a good one at that.

I thought this thread was going to be about quitting RX7's..... This is a much better topic. Keep with it, get addicted to something that is good for you to take its place.

Quiting somking cigs was one of the harder things I have had to quit in life. The addiction is worse than heroin!
I only smoked for 7 years, however it was a battle to stop.
What worked for me was keeping busy. When I was "niccin" I would go for a walk or jog to get my BP up. It took a while but now I have been cig free for about 10 years.
I have always enjoyed tobacco, but now an occasional cigar is all I need.
Good luck with your battle.
You will feel great once you have quit!!!

Stay away from alcohol & coffee! Those 2 things in my opinion will make u crave a cig more than anything. I stopped for a few months and the drinking w buddies who smoke lured me back in. Mind over matter, I didn't go through any withdrawls & I've been a smokers since 16. I'm sure I can quit again but I have to be ready to put my social life on hold for a few weeks. Good Luck, you can do it!!!!!....

Quitting tobacco will probably be the hardest thing you'll ever do, but it is worth it. It took me about a year to become free of the tobacco craving. It got easier as time passed, though. Good luck!

It's pretty cool the attention this thread has generated... Shows you what a nice guy can create as far as a good vibe goes. Medical know-hows say what others have said here, about 1 week for physical, 2 for mental - at least initially. Obviously, we're all pullin' for you Joe. You seem like the guy who can do it.
