NEW!! Regional Meet (unnamed) Memorial Day Weekend 2019

return of a Northwest meet!

I am looking to organize a rotary enthusiast meet over Memorial Day weekend in 2019. The Venue would be in conjunction with the Moses Lake Spring Festival. Akin to the former Northwest Rotor Rally and Apple Blossom Festival. This is an event with all the trappings of a car show, music, carnivals, downtown shops, parade, food, and a 3on3 basketball tourney. The area is pretty lively.

The rough outline would be:

Friday: arrival, Dinner and Drinks at TenPin Taphouse. https://tenpintaphouse.com/ Hotel is right next to restaurant/bar :https://tenpininn.com/
Yes, the Taphouse, casino, bowling alley, restaurant, brewery and hotel are on the same property.
Saturday: Car show (9am-3pm) $25 dollar entry fee, includes dash plaque, I believe a shirt and other "swag" or "loot" or whatever this stuff is called now. Funds raised by registration go to Food Bank and supports Big Bend Community College automotive students.
Awards and Raffles at Chicos Pizza (4pm-7pm)
Moonlight Parade (est start time 8:15, but participating cars usually go first so staging times will be earlier)
For those not interested in the parade, the carnival continues or other options is the TenPin or ???
Sunday: Sober up and go home. Any other ideas?

Of course thing cans be added. (mobile dyno had been done in the past... Maybe a tech session? Rebuilding, tuning...ect)

Why Moses Lake? You may ask. ABF was a train wreck. Everything was miles away from everything else and tickets were issued fairly liberally. Most of the law enforcement is busy at the sand dunes so it is not the presence Wenatchee had. There is also something there for everyone, significant others are not locked at the car show like at the ABF car show.

ONCE AGAIN: This is a huge weekend, pulling people from all over the northwest. IF THERE IS AN INTEREST, COMMITMENTS NEED TO BE MADE. Hotels will be booking for the weekend and I am sure I can get a block if I act soon. I am also looking for volunteers and event supporters to assist in bringing this together.
Once I get a feel of how many attendees there are I can start with the hotel and dining reservations.

Here's to a fun gathering of rotorheads !

I'm interested. I'm wondering if you can get more people to commit by posting this in a few of the RX7 specific facebook groups.

I am holding off on Facebook promotion until I can speak with the proposed venues. At that time I should be able to get a estimate for lodging and meal costs. I hope to get some info over the holiday weekend.

196 views... So there is some passing interest!

I secured a block of twenty rooms for the 24th and 25th at the Ten Pin Inn. $85 a night with the cut off date being April 17th to book a room. (reservations:509 764-7500) Rooms are booked under "RX7 Club"

Looking at naming this gathering "R.E. Matsuri _ a rotary engine festival"

more to follow...

Update: Friday, May the 24th has been booked. (6pm-9pm). Seating for 49 people. I feel that given the choice of everyone ordering from the menu or having a buffet, the buffet would be better. That way people can arrive when they arrive and can chow down with out the wait. The buffet options are below:
