I just hope you get the engine and car your deserve. There's no reason an stock-ish N/A rotary should fall apart.

Haha!!!

I've driven my car HARD everywhere sense the new engine... 16,000 miles in 1.5 years and counting...
Just got back from a 500+ mile drive up to The Ridge in Shelton...
Build them right... Tune them well... Monitor your gauges... Enjoy!!!

Since I was there when the engine was assembled I figured I would chime in, This was an emergency rebuild like stated before, most of his Gsl-se were toasted due to low oil pressure, we spent hours cleaning and replacing bad parts to get an functional engine ready for assembly Hell I even donated parts to this build to get him on the road to work and back

When Armyofone assembled the engine He told Joe that the Apex seals he had would not last and he should look into getting a fresh set asap with an oring kit to tear apart and replace the seals

Joe I saw your engine in Armyofones garage two weeks ago and damn man I wish I had more parts up in the oly area to donate to get you back on the road, This time do it right and listen to Armyofones Advice!

Glad to see you are not selling your ride brother good luck to you

Absolutely... I love a challenge!! I haven't had the opportunity to play with a Haltech yet (although I have the software on my laptop))... Im game as long as you have good gauges (wideband, boost, water temp, etc) and supporting fuel system (larger injectors, external FPR, good fuel pump, etc)... I can help get your car up to snuff for tuning if its not there yet too... BRAP!!!

I blew her up on a tune from another car with simular mods.
All I need is hard seals and soft seals rotor bearings pressed in and I can rebuild her!

Carnage!

Well as I thought, 2 apex seals broken leading to massive trauma to the housings causing a massive compression hemorrage. Corner piece for front apex seal caused the strangest damage I have ever seen in this area. It appears that the chrome surface melted and was pressed against the iron. Extreme finger slicin' sharpness, akin to the Ginsu Knife (TM). bearings appeared to be in good shape except for the rear main. No damage to stationary or rotor gears.

final analysis of the damage is consistent with Over reving as there was rotor contact with the irons combined with apex seals that were beyond wear limit in height.

could the knife edge be caused by lack of oil from failed omp? not sure how long it ran before I started adding two stroke to fuel, maybe two or three days.

As I said, I have never seen this type of damage to the chrome surface before. It was caused by a stuck, spring loaded, misaligned Apex seal corner piece. Doesn't matter now, moving onto a better build anyway. Also remember that these were heavy S3 13B rotors, the more weight the lower the redline. We are fixing this right MEOW!

I have a two pairs of 9:7:1 s5 na rotors let me know if you guys want to put a set into the new engine.
light rotors, large ports, full balance and clearanceing would be fun to drive

even better would be some renesis rotors 10:1. And machine the apex groove deeper to accept wankle seals. And use fd hardened stationary gears, clearenced and balanced.

build be based on s5 irons turbo oil pump with s5 high compression rotors, and light flywheel. will have all new apex seals and springs ect. no more high rpm running for me going to retune for better midrange pull and drivability. Just purchased new innovate wideband as well as a few other upgrade parts. will be fun to be back in the 7 again.

I just put a rev limiter on mine 8k on a MSD 6AL. It's pretty annoying but it keeps me from beating on it daily.
