I built my rx7 to be a dailly driver, even with a hot rod engine, that is my choice. since ownership of two years i have put over 40k on this chassis. clock shows over 215k and is still in great shape, no rust or body damage........so we put engine number three in it and go again. There is not a part out there that can not be broken, I can prove it really I can! all it is, is money and a passion, and a desire to drive...........and I have lots of drive, just not a lot of money.
Well good luck! I hope your next engine has more success than your spell check or English teacher did!

Maybe look into a dry sump system if you are continually having oil issues while racing.

I wasn't trying to jab,i did jab, because every time i talk to someone that did a V8 swap, they all say the same thing, because the rotary is so unreliable.i say stop,it's not the engines fault you blew it up.it wasn't built or tuned correctly.my rotary engines have taken abuse for many years on end with out any issues.

a dry sump isn't going to help if the bearings aren't installed correctly,if the oil cooler hasn't been replaced etc.you don't need to spend big bucks to have reliability.

if you two want to bash each other do it in pm's ok. we do not know the nature of the failure yet. and yes the oil cooler was flushed before the new engine was installed. and tweak....lay off the v8 pushing, just because you went there does not mean the rest of us will follow.

Right now you can't follow anyone.

But really, I didn't push anything, just offered my help for when you wake up. You guys should be pretty content with it lasting two long years at the high power level you were dishing out and after all the racing.

People have proven that rotarys last just as long as any other engine. Depends on setup, builder, and maintainer same goes for any other engine. Not gonna lie i love LS motors and have done my share of swaps but they are both fun.

Generally, I think most people would agree, the more power an engine produces, the more wear and chances of something breaking increase? An increase in power increase the stress on the internals and parts.

I am not sure if you are mad at me or what you are talking about really, but congrats on having a P port in before 1998 last for 15 years? Didn't know they even had them back then, or that they had standalones that could run them. Was it fast?

Am I supposed to say something new and original? I wasn't sure of the rules. I am curious, who decides what is new and original anyways? Who are you again?

It seems as though I have got snivley whiplash mixed up with ArmyOfOne. I think AOO is the one with the semi P port racecar, and snivley whiplash just drives around. Forget my dry sump comment above, thought this was a racecar.

SERIOUSLY? You clearly don't know JACK SH*T about rotaries! The most famous P-ported car of them ALL is the Mazda 787B that WON Le Mans in 1991!! YEUP, 1991. It wasn't even close to being the first p-ported car either, Mazda (and everyone who knows better) has been running them FOREVER (since they started racing 'em! -Late '60's-very early '70's) and with CARBS. "need a standalone to run them" LMFAO.

**After Mazda won in '91 they disassembled the R26B in front of the press/media, and checked for wear. They revealed it could've easily raced another 24hr race and most likely two. IMPOSSIBLE to achieve w/a piston engine, they MUST be rebuilt afterwards.

**My s4 FC DD has 220K and counting. Original engine.

Welcome to 2013, where rotary doesn't exist in any production or serious racecar anywhere. No reason to get all upset at someone you don't know, on a thread that doesn't matter. lol I enjoyed it though.

Congrats an the 220k miles. Still pushing the 140 hp NA? Get passed by many prius lately?

Thanks for your opinion. I am done here, I forgot how fun Rx7 club was though! See you in 2 years when it blows again. I'm out.

I think that 99% of the rotary engine related bs that you talk about is mindless bs and you really have no clue about anything rotary engine related. (Is that statement new enough for you?)
Glad the v8 works for ya they usually do and that's great. Sorry the rotary didn't work out for ya maybe when something isnt working out for you you will ask someone that knows what he or she is doing.

LMFAO, do you even know what your typing? Work on that reading comprehension, it'll help.

No need for me type a long reply because we can all see the lack coherence, and pure fantasy/denial in your replies & comments. It'd be futile!

For the record 1BADSP never implied that he was on the Mazda team sooo....and you don't need to be on any "team" to have p-ports silly.
Your belligerent ignorance is showing.

The posts in this thread remind me why I rarely visit this site anymore.

Sorry about your motor, Joe. That car had impressive power and delivery. I was pleasantly surprised when I got behind the wheel.

Hahahah rabble rabbles!

Ignoring all the rabble - dood I'm sorry to hear the engine popped! Happens to the best of the best. Hope she's back on the road soon.

I totally undesrtand how frustrating it is -but seriously gotta take a few days decision time before doing something rash like selling it. Or trashing it. Or whatevs

Take some space, recollect your wits, go back to it. Solution is often simpler than it at first seems.

Stick with it bro!
