Came across this ....... hope it helps.
DC - doppio (double) corpo (body) i.e. twin choke
O - orizzontale (horizontal) i.e. sidedraft
E - indicates carb is die-cast

They're model designations for various carburetors. Here are some of the ones I've seen used on rotaries.

Webers:
IDA = 2-barrel non-progressive downdraft
IDF = 2-barrel non-progressive downdraft, somewhat different design from the IDA with a different bore spacing
DCD = 2-barrel progressive downdraft, used in pairs in an old Rotary Engineering setup
ICH = 1-barrel downdraft, used in RotaryShack's high-MPG carb kit
DCO = 2-barrel non-progressive sidedraft
DCOE = same as DCO except with a cold-start enrichment circuit

Dellorto DHLA: improved copy of the Weber DCOE
Mikuni PHH: improved copy of the Weber DCOE
OER: improved copy of the Weber DCOE (seeing a trend here?)

Then there are the various big 4-barrels, such as Holley, Edelbrock/Carter, Demon, etc., which share a common manifold style.

e= choke, not die cast. Gavin improved should be in quotations. OER’s are just Weber rip-offs. Mikuni's and Delorttos were supposed to have improvements on the transition circuits and easier to understand jetting schedules. I like real Webers best out of them all.

You're right, I should've put it in quotes.

OERs do have a few nifty features, like externally adjustable float levels and adjustable accelerator pump stroke, and they come boost-prepped from the factory. Otherwise, yeah, they're basically just DCOEs. They're even compatible with DCOE jets and e-tubes.
