about the flooding- you should crank it for at least a minute with the EGI fuse pulled. when mine flooded, i had to crank a long *** time before it cleared out.

It's flodded. or bad control rings.
1take out the trailing plugs leave the leading in.
2pull the plug on the crank angle sensor
3 pull out the fuel pump fuse
4crank it for a minute or two.
5clean and dry all the plugs.
6reconnect CAS,
7plug the fuses in,
8put your spark plugs in.
9enjoy

wow I haven't seen a rotary with emissions intact in a long time, now I remember why I removed all that **** Seriously though, rx7s break a fair amount, try to not stress about it and things will go much smoother.

^^^^ why not just pull the EGI fuse, it cuts spark and fuel.

It's probably not an apex seal but if your oil control rings are broken you will need a rebuild anyway, so it's not really any better. It's weird for them to break though, usually they just gradually deteriorate until the engine smokes too much to tolerate.

I'm trying to think of some way you could get a ton of oil in there otherwise and I'm not really seeing it. The metering pump doesn't pump that much. I guess if the engine spun a really long time without any fuel to burn the oil off it might pile up in there. Still seems really weird.

one think i would like to make a point is why oil pressure gauge is never at one spot. when i am just at iddle its says 0 if i just doing normal driving around town not taking it above 3 its says i am doing about 30lbs i think its lbs anywho when i romph it it peaks 60 is this normal. somthing else that might help with figuring out what is wrong is i get really bad gas mi i adverage 250 to 278mi out of a tank i drive about 20 mi to work but its all highway mi which are only going 60mi/hr i am just going to get new plugs and plug wires to see if it helps

gzzzzzzzzz making a list like this makes me feel like i bough a peice

Oil pressure goes up and down all the time, that's normal.

Your mileage is a little bad, new plugs + wires might fix it.

idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well first oof why the hell are we looking at the back of your head as if i can diagnose a problem besides big ******* idiot syndrom!!!! remember everyone the rotary engine is oil injected duh so theres the oil and all you neeed to do is take all the plugs out burn the **** off with a torch and before you put the plugs back in you need to take the egi and the inj fuse out and hold the throttle open all the way and crank for like ten seconds put you fuses and plugs back in and keep doing this till it starts. or to make things even simpler if its a manual have someone pull or push you down the street and bump the damn thing if you cant figure out what bumping a car is pm me and i will draw you a map and dont worry i will leave out any pics of the back of my head. !!!!!!!!!!
