Does DirecTV work in Seattle?

Hey all, I have Directv here in Maryland and it works awesome... but I'm moving to Seattle...

Does Directv satellite service work OK in seattle with all the rain or do I have to get a horrible cable connection?

Thanks,
Brian

get comcast digital cable its better imo

Yes it works fine. Comcast digital cable is really good over here. I prefer it over Directv.

Comcast blooooooooows.

So long as the dish has a mostly clear view of the southern sky towards Texas you're fine.

Oh, and as for the interruption of satellite signal because of weather? In the 8 years I have had DirecTV I have only once had interruption, and it was because there was 2" of ice on the outside of my dish.

Want to know the secret to perfect satellite reception? Plastic garbage bag over the dish. I'm serious, works wonders.

Plus, if you have HD or even want digital stuff Comcast BARELY delivers. The first 220 channels of Comcasts' 'Digital cable' isn't actually digital. It's still an analogue signal. DirecTV is 100% digital on every channel, all the time.

direct tv is awesome when it's not cloudy! so basicaly it's great here 27 days a year...

I believe the FCC or something is requiring all public channels to be digital by 2006, most channels already are digital so how is Comcast rebroadcasting them in analog? Oh well I have Directv now and I have comcast at my other place and enjoy them both but will soon be switching to Comcast only.

I was a home theater installed in another life is the only reason I'm so anal about satellite. Comcast broadcasts an analogue cable signal to your digital box, which then converts it to digital, for the sake of being able to advertise it as "digital cable".

And Hyper if you are having clouds or other minor weather conditions obstruct your signal your dish is off slightly, call up DirecTV and have them come align your dish, unless this is something you feel comfortable doing.

I think the picture on the HD channels comcast provides is great, plus ondemand is the coolest cable related thing ever.

yeah, i have direct and i have never lost a signal, and also, comcast is hella slow, and it blows.
