Custom pipe bending

Okay y'all....I'm in desperate need of some help here. For months now I've been trying to find someone who can bend 2.75" stainless pipe so I can finish my intercooler installation. So far I've drawn a big goose egg. All the shops I find can do 2.5" or 3", but nobody does 2.75". I don't want to use reducers and I prefer the seamless look of bent stainless over welded aluminum. Does anybody know of a place that can custom bend 2.75" tubes?

You might need to find and bye the mandrels yourself and let them use them to form your pipes.

Are you talking about cutting & welding? I'll only do that as a last resort. There has to be somebody, somewhere who can bend these pipes for me.

Search for different shops online... You may need to ship it out somewhere to have it bent. 2.75" is sort of big for intercooler piping. It surprises me that they can do 2.5" and 3" but nothing in between.

Did you try Speedware?
What about Steve Kan? Not local, but has a mandrel bender

Think I found a place in Marysville. Bending Solutions. Gonna give them a call tomorrow.

If I hurry I might even make it to Lloyd's next month.

I'll second Speedware in Redmond - they did a beautiful job on my downpipe.

Glad you find someone who can do it for you. Both 2.5" and 3" are very popular and almost exist on every vehicles (intake, exhaust, intercooler). 2.75" is only used on a few vehicles (mostly Subaru).

Just my .02

2.75" isn't common and material cost more than 3". The cost of purchasing tools to bend 2.75" is why most would not carry them. a set of tools to bend any specific O.D. and CLR cost anywhere from $5000-$15000. Even the same O.D. tools with different CLR require almost all new set of tools. Unless someone sell alot of 2.75" stainless or Aluminum, they won't spend the money to get tools for it. I just spent $5000 on the 1.75" tools for my mandrel bender so I can make headers with it on my next project. For any shop to spend any money on new tools mean either (they have a new project that requires the tool or they plan to sell alot of common bends on that particular size tools (it works out to around 500 pre bend tube to cover the cost of the tooling)
