Carb/Intake Questions

I am getting togeather the last of the parts i will need for my turbo FB build.... I am only needing a carb/intake and a few other small things to be good to go, but i am stuck on what set up to get.....

Ok, so IDA is looking much cheaper and more available, but i have been told that a side draft set up is better for boost applications....

So what does everyone think, IDA or Side? What are the benifits over IDA what are the problems that side draft will cause,ect... Pretty much every though, opinion, experience or option you can think of telling me about i want to hear it!

Also i cant seem to find a company that makes lower intake manifolds for the 86-up 4ports...... I find lots of top pieces but i have been told that they will not fit the stock lower intake, so i am at a loss there as well.

HELP ME PEOPLE I CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO:lol:

On another note, the "purple pounder" is now in the shop and starting its new life soon to be somthing else entirely!!! ;)

I'm not a turbo guy but....

I'm not a turbo guy, but it's my understanding that the longer intake runners, positioning and easy access, make a side draft a good candidate.

PS- really pricey, but heres a side draft intake for a 13b 4port

Most companys that make or made an intake setup for aftermarket carbs never made a setup for the turbo motor. My guess is that for this application most people ran a fuel injection setup for a turbo motor. The tunability of a FI vs. a Carby is much more doable and controlable with FI, and as touchy as the rotary is when boost is applied the logical choice was usually FI with some sort of tuning options.
So Joe, have you considered a fuel injection setup?

I just cant stand the throttle response of any EFI system, and i dont have the thousands to put into the car to uprgade the system to the point where that is gone. I love my carbys :D

So i just want the best carb set up, i'm not looking to take ferrari's :)
