I don't know jack about RX-7 mods. Any comments will be helpful.

not quite sure about the 13BREW engines. it does have 80k on it, so that might be something to look at... i know that 13bt *usually* only last to 150k, but this one is a rebuild so... no idea otherwise it looks pretty cool. for prices check kbb, also just troll around the wtb section of the forums to get a better feel on what the price should be around.
(hope some FD guys chime in here... so i stop sounding like a retard :p)

I am no FD guy by any means but I second Kouta's words.

I have looked into the REW engines and all owners on this forum say that you are lucky to get 100k on the engine. 120 is heard of but very uncommon. Also it was rebuilt at 23k? That is really low for a new engine off the floor.

The thing that really gets me is the replaced radiator. Stock? All FD owners know that if you are going to replace that piece of junk rad you might as well go with a koyo for a little extra.

On the plus side it looks really clean and very nice! Welcome to the forum as well, we need more olympia people. :)

Sounds like a reasonable cost for what you're getting... Especially since you could talk him down a little bit.

I think it was rebuilt at 79k miles (at least that would make more sense).

Hrmmm i saw that one on autotrader for 18k not to long ago and now down to 14k dang.

If it was rebuilt at 79 it sounds like a little better of a deal. I don't think that it is that bad of a deal at that point as long as everything checks out.

If that is true, then its pretty good... the listing is still somwhat cryptic and the only way to really know is to talk to the guy and make sure to check out the car very throroughly noting everything you can find wrong :D

Yeah, It seems like some people who are selling their FD's think they are worth more than they really are. I am all down for asking high and selling low but it just seems like the price that FD's are being advertised for has not gone down over the past 5 years.

I know they are rare but these cars are getting OLD. these are 10-14 y/o cars that need alot of mantainence. In general, they just aren't worth what they were 5 years ago. There are always exceptions but it seems like the going price for FD's is now more like 8-13k, not 13-18k like it was 5 years ago.

No kidding, these aren't exactly new cars anymore...

Amazingly they have held their great body lines through the years though!

Mine is very similar to that one (80k on chassis and 21k on pineapple rebuild). I think the price is very resonable. I am selling mine and swore I wouldn't sell it for less that 14k, but I HATE selling cars and FD's are one car you DON'T want to trade in otherwise I would. You want to make sure to check it out with a rotary specialist if possible, or at least a good Mazda dealership. I go to GTGarage in NE Portland and would take any (rotary) car to Chris to have checked out before I bought it.

THe thing about these cars is what you get for the money. I mean, it just blows me away how much performance you get and the looks.....The wheel size is the only thing that shows it's date, to me. If your intersted in shopping around, I have pics of mine and a very good reference on the car (Chris @ GT Garage) I am willing to work on the price simply because I have 4 cars and want/need to widdle it down to 2 before winter hits. If your serious pm me and I can give you a run down on it. (Yes I have an all aluminum M2 performance radiator ;) ) I can also tell you more about owning one if you would like, I have owned mine for 5 or 6 years now and learned a lot!

The prices are fair. The reason being there aren't many to choose from these days. I can't just go to town and find one on a lot, I have to really hunt to find one in reasonable shape. 13,950 isn't bad considiring the engine has just been rebuilt, which probably ran the guy from around 2,000-3,000. If you want a car which is just about as rare to see as a lambo, and probably gets just as much attention this would be it.

True but what can you get for that money? That car was 35k new back in 93, its worth what ever you can spend. True its an older sports car that will still turn high 12's. Its not a f*cking honda so you dont pay for it,

Mine was $5000 or so after all was said and done. The engine alone (3mm apex seals, enlarged coolant and oil tracks) was over $3500 then all the hoses, clutch and all the other things that you should do when you do the engine.......it adds up.

I am going to put mine on Craig's list this week, not sure if there is anywhere else that is any good. Auto Trader online seems like people want a fortune for them, maybe that would work in my favor!

I didn't throw that # out there as a "guess". RX7WEE was trying to sell a low compression running FD for 8k about a year ago. Then he dropped the price to 7k. He might have even dropped it to 6k, but I cant remember for certin. He was trying to sell it for over 6 months and couldn't. This car needed a couple things but was all there, and he COULDN'T sell it. It was a white 5 speed. I was looking at picking it up, but decided not to. I believe he still has it and is planning on fixing it up.

I guess some lost out on a good deal then.

Stop arguing about value of RX-7!! lol I have never heard so many debates about the value of a car! I am just playing, but it is funny to me how so many people debate it on these forums.......I guess thats why the forums are here! ;)

I know in the East Cost the cost for a Crash 3rd Gen always run around 12-15K and that is from a Auto Wreck Yard. Normaly I see this 3rd gen around here going for 10-14K but depending on how much work you need to do to them and miles on the body. That car looks pretty clean but I will look deep into it and make sure that everything is ok with it because alot of that stuff dosen't make alot of sense for the price he is asking. Overall it looks nice and clean. Test drive it, ask on the 3rd gen section of the forum as well and do alot of online research on this cars before paying that huge amount.

Umm with the mods he has listed he should have a fuel computer/boost controller or not running over the stock 10 psi . . . . but since he upgraded the turbos and fuel pump my bet he is which could cause a blown motor fairly easily.

Your best bet would be to test drive the car. Run it hard, checking braking, handling, and look under the car (you'll probably need to) and see if there any leaks, check under the hood for broken solenoids and vacuum lines. If the car seems to run good for at least 1 hour of test driving then I'd say the car should be good. As far as the price goes, I paid 14,800 on my 94 Touring with 59K on the car.
