1985 RX-7 GS - Fully refreshed
Well, it's been a fun project for the last 2 years, but I'm starting to get the itch for a new toy. This RX-7 kind of fell in to my lap. I'm the 3rd owner, my wife's uncle bought it back in 1988, drove it for 15+ years, then parked it in a barn on our property for another 15 years. I bought it from him after it had been sitting and got it back to good running condition. A list of things I've done / replaced since being pulled out of storage.- 128,XXX miles (I've only put about 1000 miles on it in the last 2 years)
- Front brakes
- Rebuild carb
- Replace rubber coolant lines and fix (most) oil leaks
- New tires
- New battery
- Replace clutch master/slave/flex line
- New headlights
- spark plugs/wires/distributor cap
- New alternator
- Replace door seals and window seals
- Replaced tie rods, idler arm
- Brand new OEM rear suspension links
- Brand new CARB legal cat
And some fun stuff- Lowering springs
- Koni Yellows front / orange rear
- T3 GTX2 lower control arms
- ST front swaybar
- braided brake lines
- New shift boot and weighted shift knob
CONS: - Original radiator is a little crusty
- Cold starts take a few stabs of gas and 10sec of cranking.
- Steering gearbox leaks oil
- One small oil leak from sensor in oil pan
- Badly fixed door dings
I'm sure there are other things I'm forgetting. The car needs a wash (I have a dirt road for a driveway). Passed smog back in February, but I will re-smog for whoever decides to buy it.
Open to trade for nb miata (+cash?)
Come take it for a test drive!
