Would this radiator cool my 13b turbo

Hi guys,

I want to replace the original U20 engine in my Datsun Roadster with a 13b TurboII (S4).
For all U20-Lovers: Got this car without any engine and transmission!

The radiator should be replaced by a aluminum 2 or 3-Row aftermarket Datsun Roadster radiator.
But would this cool the 13B Turbo?

Original RX7 FC core dimensons:
22 1/4" x 17" x 1 1/4" (56,5cm x 43cm x 3,2cm)

Datsun 3-Row core:
14 1/8" x 15 1/2" x 2 1/2" (36cm x 39cm x 6,5cm)

--> I want to add a SPAL 15" (382mm) High Performance e-Fan

Specs:
- S4 Turbo
- ~10.000km (~6500miles)
- stock port
- no emissions*
- new manifold (without twin scroll)*
- BOSCH 044*
- parallel fuel system*
- FPD mod*
- Throttle Body mod*
- 2,5" exhaust from turbo*
- ported wastegate*
- ported turbo inlet*

* in progress / want to do

The Datsun 3 core has about the same dimensions as the 1st gen RX-7 rad (minus the 3 core) so you will likely be fine. I'm not familiar with that exact fan but if it doesn't include a shroud which covers the entire rad surface, you'll want to fabricate one.

Also, skip the throttle body mod. It just damages drivability. And don't eliminate the BAC valve, as many people do during an "emissions removal".

shroud.. this is the word I was searching for. Thanks Aaron!
Yes I will fabricate one by my own of course. like this one:

I´m a industrial mechanic and now I´m study mechanical engineering (Dipl.-Ing made in Germany) ^^ :peace:

I would use this writeup to remove emissions - think this is a good site

http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...s_removal.html
and yes I will keep the BAC valve.

no TB mod - less work ... so thanks for the info

What I forgot:
- Want to install a front mount intercooler like this one (without this SR20)

to big to post it directly

- What´s better a 2-row or a 3-row radiator?

A 3 core will pack more cooling into a given area but requires more force to move air through it. Typically they will do better at high speeds or with a powerful e-fan. 2 core has less cooling capacity but requires less airflow. If most of your driving is in the city at low throttles and speeds, then 2 core will do the job.

okay so I think I will go 3 core with the 15" SPAL e-fan (>3000m³/h)

low throttle? This should be a fun-car

Whould a electric water pump help to decrease cooling temperature?
Are there any "bad" castings in the cooling circle which could be port to increase flow?
What about cooling additives like Redline Waterwetter?

Can I go with a "Champion" or "Winner Racing" radiator?
