Wiring Question

Hey guys,

I am doing a swap for my 1986 Rx7 GXL. I was wondering if I can keep my N/A body harness if I am going for a S4 Turbo ? By S4 Turbo I mean all electronics EXECPT body harness. And my 2nd question is : Is there any conversion kit for the body harness to go from S4 to S5 (for the ecu) ?

Thanks

This is Frequently asked, and actually in the FAQ's up top so if you can research a little more it would be helpful to you.It will keep the Questions up here from being repetitive too.Thanks.
Here is a thread from amongst the 10 pages of info.

Just to let you know you will lose Knock sensor and have to cut a power steering wire on the N/A harness if swapping s4 to S4 TII in an N/A car.
S5 engine will either need rewiring or have to be built as a S4 based engine to run in the car.
If you build s4 then you need to have the s4 Oil metering pump, etc to lube the engine OR go to Premixing the gas with 2 stroke.

Actually Sam,If you need additional Info,I have done this with an S5 TII engine With no Emission crap added.Single T4 turbo.
S4 is just extending a couple wires that aren't long enough.
I won't play PM tag But if you give me your Skype I will try to walk you through it when you do it.

It would be awesome ! Well actualy I'm not registered on skype yet. I'll get it and I'll pm you back when I get to the harness convertion.

Its easy you have to remove a few wires on the ecu side. Its easier to use a NA S4 harness for the swap for both engines. On the S5 engine you have to get creative with the sensors. Mainly the oil temp on the side of the block. You will need a S4 TII TB and other electronics to finish the swap and a bigger fuel pump.
