Why is the car losing traction

My 84 SE loses traction when I hit an uneven surface. My steering will either swerve to the right or left. If I hit something on the rear, my rear wheels feels like I lost traction and will slide to the left or the right. Any ideas what the problem is. It has brand new tires

thanks

I have a GS and it does the same thing with full tread tires, In my opinion its called raw 1.1l rotary power kicking in! Take it how you want, but honestly its no big deal. ( when you hit a uneven surface depending on how stiff or soft your suspension is one wheel may not have great contact with the road. plus your a se so you have lsd. that may have something to do with it.

Could be caused by a number of things. I'd start by having the front end inspected and aligned. Good luck...

I had the suspension inspected with my local mechanic and nothing is loose or missing. It is lowered with Tokiko blues. It happens sometimes when I turn and my rear will swerve a little. It felt that I was rubbing my stock tires. I replaced it with new rims and tires and actually gained more clearance compared to the stock ones and it will occasionally do it. The car does not pull and feels that the alignment and steering is straight. is it the LSD? Any suggestions of an alignment or suspension specialist here in the SF Peninsula.

Custom Alignment in Mountain View is VERY good but pricey - $200. They did the most accurate alignment I have ever had after numerous poor alignments. Would have saved money if I went there first.

Not sure of other places since I'm somewhat new to the area. Reitmers Workstat seems well referred as well. You get what you pay for oftentimes.
