When will 255/40 R17 Wheels fit in Front of FD3s?
Good Morning!
When will these tire specification fit? I readed alot about it but what is true? I donīt want very deep. Will it fit with OEM Shocks and eibach springs? Which offset need the Rims? Or will it only fit with Aftermarket Coilover? I donīt want to do so modification on my Body. |
I have 255/40's on 17" X 9" rims with +48 off-set. The car is at slightly lower than stock height...maybe 20 mm at all four corners. The fenders are not rolled and it doesn't rub. But I have coil overs. Sorry, I don't know about the stock suspension.

I have 18x9 +42 with 255/35r18 up front with stock suspension
No modifications to body, no rubbing. https://www.rx7club.com/attachments/...s-img_9171.jpg |
thanks for the Infos!
My plan is: - Stock Suspension with Eibach springs. I hearded that it is a good combination. I donīt have enough money at the moment to Buy Feed :( - 255/40 R17 all around. With 8,5J-9J Width Rims. Thanks for the picture. The Fender Plastic inner Body, I hope u know what I mean. U don`t have to remove it? |
What off-set are your wheels? That's pretty important.

Sooo.... Update.
I wamt to buy 17x9 all around with a offset of 50mm. Will it fit without Felder modification and lowering springs? |
I ran 17x9.5 +38 with a small roll

I know this is a late post but I just joined recently and went through the EXACT same thing on my setup. I went with an 18x9.0 +35mm all the way around. 245/35/18 DW Continentals. I did like how it turned out. No issues at stock height or lowered (just over 1.5") except a slight rub if the wheel is turned over hard all the way (and I mean absolutely all the way). The screw holding the fender liner in place does scratch ever so slightly on the tire, but it isnt really noticeable at all.
Attachment 549574 This was before we fully lowered it, but it does create a nice but snug fitment. |
^OK. If you're happy I'm happy.
But that is not "the EXACT same thing". Recall the title and subject of the thread. The OP and all but one other post discuss 17" wheels. And the OP specifically states he wants 17" wheels. |
i will drive 235 in front... maybe later, after one year on Track I will decide... if 255 is necessary :)
