this is whats wrong with my FC

My car is an '88 Rx-7 convertible 100% stock and has 190,174k miles on it...but i dont know if the toggle switch on it is aftermarket or not though.. ANYWAYS, this is whats wrong with my car and i would like to know your opinion on what i should tackle first and different stuff i can do to fix it.

------------
  • windshield wipers turn on when i turn on my car and i cant even turn them off
  • Left headlight does not go up or down
  • Trunk release lever does not work inside the car
  • speakers do not work(head unit is stock)
  • Convertible top leaks along the side and gets in the door and messes up the window motor
  • windows wont go up or down
  • White smoke comes out of the tail pipe whenever i start the car
  • Hood Release lever does not release the hood all the way, i need one person to pull the lever and the other to lift up the hood
  • Was told head gasket needed to be replaced

Man, you have a lot of work ahead of you.:(

How much white smoke? Is it really smoke or is it actually "water" vapor? What does it smell like? If it is a small amount of smoke and it stops after a minute or so as the engine warms up, it should not be a problem.

If it is actually vapor and it doesn't stop after the car warms up and it smells sweet, don't bother with the rest of the problems for now 'cause your engine likely has failed coolant seal(s) requiring an engine rebuild or replacement.

I hope you didn't pay much for this car since replacing or rebuilding the engine will cost you several thousand dollars. Not to mention the cost of repairing all the other problems you listed.

BTW, this engine does not have a "head gasket", or a cylinder head for that matter. Whoever told you that apparently is not rotary-engine savvy.

stay away from that person. knowledge of the rotary he has not.

headlight issue could be bad electrical connection to a bad motor.
hatch release will be electrical. check power to the switch.
speakers could be blown.
top leaking could just need new seals.
windows not working could be in the switch or bad motors.
have someone hold the hood released pulled and see if the latch is dragging(alignment). could also just not be pulling enough for it to unlock.

oops sorry, i didn't mean to put head gasket, they said i needed a gasket kit...my bad...But about the headlight, it does not go up or down because an accident getting it off the tow dolly...(not my fault) i cannot seem to take out the light or anything so would i need to remove the front bumper in order to get to it? or at least to check why its not going up and down.

O yeeah, i did get the car for free, the only expenses i had to do is paying Uhaul for the truck and tow dolly + gas so if u look at it i only payed like 700 dollars for the car.

what type of accident?
pulling off the front bumpers tricky i had to pull my fenders aswell
under the headlight assemble you should notice a black plastic knob if you turn that one way or the other it should force the headlight up then back down rapidly so dont put your hand in the way
if you hear the motor buzz the brackets are prolly bent if nothing happens the motor is prolly blown

Dude..holy shit
If you are gonna work on the lights,DISCONNECT the freakin Battery!..If those headlight Reatractor Motors KICK IN they Pinch your Friggin Fingers BAD!.
..and you do not have to Pull the Fenders to get the bumper off.You simply move the Wheel well plastic over enough to gain access to the bolts that hold the front Bumper ON.
BUT there are some 10 mm heads that you will have to get at in FRONT of the fender and In between the Bumper itself..and to get at those you have to take the Lights OUT and OFF.,

its 12vs,takeit like a man lol
but iff you disconnect the power you wont be able to turn the dial maybe you should read what i posted it was sort of a diagnostic for what is wrong with that light maybe not in lamens terms

really? you dont have to pull the fenders? shyte i did, but i had to they were rusted. owell
