how do you tell 1994 interior from 1993 i have some parts that are smooth and some that look like leather

Povlsen 11-12-11 08:18 AM

i'm sure its the same! a friend of me got two fd's and they are the interior look like the same though

cris2fer1 11-12-11 01:36 PM

thanks i talked to ray at malloy and he said the 93 was smooth and the 94 up was dimpled

dgeesaman 11-12-11 08:55 PM

Correct. The 93 style also had a reputation for peeling.

The various dash and console panels are interchangable. As mentioned, differing finishs. I personally prefer the look of the smooth 93 pieces but they will scratch alot easier. Over time I've re-finished mine with a MUCH more durable material that looks the same.

Which finish is that?

^Plasti-dip....http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip
I bought mine at Lowe's...a couple aerosol cans go a long way. I don't like using stripper on plastics, so I used 100 grit to remove the old finish. Followed up with 220 grit, cleaned with some reducer and sprayed with about 30 minutes between coats. Sounds like more work than it is. It actually takes longer to R & R the plastics from the car. Matches the flat-black OEM finish so well I've been able to do it gradually and you can't really tell. Adhesion is great and it has a nice tactile feel to it...almost soft, but is really scatch resistant.
Same stuff as this thread.https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=Plasti-dip
^Pics are gone but if your interested I might have some on my desk-top I could post or PM you.
