What if I'm too big for my '85 GSL SE?

Today when I drove the car, I realized that the steering wheel doesn't adjust. Moving the seat back didn't really help. Anybody else have this problem? Because the only way I think I could fix it would be to get a different wheel to make it so I don't rub my hands against my legs (It also doesn't have powersteering) or to replace the seats with bucket style.

Any solutions?

I've read some guys just take the seat out and then deleted the rail supports on the floor. It allows the seat to drop to the absolute lowest position. Then you Hard mount it to the floor.
Nobody else can drive your car after that..and that is a good thing.( that is Rule#1 of owning a Rx7!)

I have kind of the same problem in my 94. With your seat all the way back does it help? After sitting in a friends car a smaller steering wheel will fix my problem. Maybe something like changing the wheel can help you out.

I'm 6'4 and have given up using the stock seat in both my 93 rx7 and 95 miata. Both got aftermarket bucket seats with custom mounts from a local race shop and aftermarket steering wheels with hubs that sit closer to the driver. There's lots of room if you're willing to make those changes. Removing the foam and different rails only helps if you aren't driving with your knees and hunched way over like I was.

What do I do to create a comfortable position that I can drive in? Do I remove the rails that the seats are on and put in bucket seats or do I replace the steering wheel?

Thanks for the help.
