What holes are these?!?!

Sorry if this wasn't what you expected. ;)
I recently picked up a 95 Rx7, rough condition, previous owner took whatever wing off and filled the holes with caulk. I want an oem wing, I just want to make sure I buy the correct one. I had a wing form my previous rx7, which was a 94 base, and the studs don't line up. Did 95's have different wings? Here are some pics for reference, any help would be greatly appreciated. That looks to be for some aftermarket wing, probably one of the boy-racer park bench styles.
If you have a stock wing, you know it used 8 holes for 4 studs on either side. Later model FDs (96+ which we never saw in North America) did have a "whale tail" version. It used only four holes...the same two inboard holes as your stock wing. But if your stock wing doesn't line up with them, it's something else. |
That's what I thought, guess I'll just get them welded or look for a replacement rear hatch.
Thank you |
not to offend you but that stuff on there looks like crap.
Now,if you want to just clean that up while you search a bit to find your replacement wing then you could always do what I did..nice and easy, quick and clean. I got interior panel plastic push pins and inserted them into the holes.I used just a touch of clear silicone for rain prevention. They look something like this: Dorman 456800BP - Trim Panel Retainers | O'Reilly Auto Parts You can get them at any Auto Parts store and can spray them with Plastic paint(like Krylon) if you really want to try to color match it. They are fully removable and look a hell of a lot better than that "Bird poop" that you got on your hatch! I got black ones on my white car..looks decent. Good luck man. |
No offense taken, car came like that. I was thinking the same thing in the meantime, luckily the car doesn't sit outside, I'm in the process of removing it.
