Water spray
 

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has installed a water spray system on their car like some subarus have. I plan on making my own out of some old windshield washer parts i have laying around. I have a fmic and a haltech and planned on making it an automatic system based on intake temps. Has anyone seen any real benefits from a system like this? Thanks

Or is your system more geared to spraying the Intercooler?

I was looking to just spray the intercooler. Sorry I should have been clearer on that.

although I see the madness behind spraying the cooler,I can also get behind spraying the Engine's intake with AI and keeping the temp down that way.
To me,it seems more dependable and steady.

A spray system for the IC is nice, should help lower IATs. But it will need a pretty large reservoir and some type of management system...unless you're just going to keep throwing an on/off switch.
You might consider a water-injection system. Not only will it lower IATs, but you will also get significantly improved engine cooling, control knock and reduce carbon deposits. FWIW(pictures re-loaded at the end): https://www.rx7club.com/auxiliary-in...ion-fd-959565/
I realize you have a TII, but maybe give you an idea. Car is still on stock ignition, stock heat-range plugs and has no break-up, even on hard WOT.

I was thinking about using one of the extra outputs on my haltech to trigger the pump when IATs reach a certain point but I'm not entirely sure if I can do that yet. I also have a few different over flow tanks and washer fluid tanks laying around so I think I should be ok with the size of the tank. I haven't really driven my car yet because I'm not done putting it together, but I got all the pieces to make this for free so i figured I could try it. An injection system does sound like a good idea though. I hadn't given it any thought untill now but after reading about it a little it seems like it would be a good investment.
