Water seals Rx-8 (atkins)

Hello, I've done a rebuild with my Rx-8. Atkins Oil control rings (metal and viton) new side seals, new rotor housings, one new iron in front (dowel pin falls on the old..).

One friend has done some measuring fails, my car starts very hard and when engine is warm it never starts. Bad compression. Nice, the new 1 piece Nrs ceramic seals dont do their job. Sometimes when its hot engine stops when it was in idle. I've driven 600km now.

Runs this car with Nrs 1 piece seals everytime so shitty bad (bad starting, no starting when hot, engine stops sometimes forever in idle when I'm driving..) or starts ist very much better when its all new? Because I don't know should I change only irons oder throw out this apex seals for 2 piece ones.. Sorry for my bad english but I'm working hard to do it better.

So, here my question, how long can I reuse engine seals, especially water seals when I teardown this engine again to change apex seals and the last 2 old irons?

I would buy MAZDA OEM coolant seals and would never try to re-use them.

Ceramics will take a while longer to seat and make good compression when compared to standard seals.

Okay I order Oem seals/o ring package with water seals and o rings. But the gasket set is now two weeks old, I think this can be reused when I'm careful, or?

no they won't. research should be done when choosing apex seals, single piece ceramics are almost strictly designed for endurance racing because they simply do not wear but they will cause starting issues because they will always have blowby during low speed cranking(read as low compression).

I will order oem seals and this 2010 starter. I will measuring my apex and housings, and change then, or not. With starting issues, i will test the new starter before I tear down my engine, so I know how much better my engine starts. Yes, wearing is important, I life in germany and thats means -13F to 100F in summer, driving often to 200 kmh and sometimes Vmax. I think the engine gots too less oil an apex seals. They weared at the ends, my housings was'nt very bad but a bit weared so I bought new ones. Weared in middle and at the ends. I will keep you up to date when I start my project.
