Let's hear it from the 3rdgen guru's...I'm thinking 15 psi on an engine that has unknown internals is asking for trouble myself but what do I know...I'm still playing with 1stgens and Nikki carburetors...

tricky nikkis for real.. mines was clogged w/all kinds of bs.. still givin me hell.

i wouldnt up the boost... 350whp!?! cmon...

before upping the boost get one of those boost spike car killers! (i forgot the technical term but it basically shuts off car when dangerous boost spike occurs)

Since it's a new to you vehicle you should take it to a professional to have it checked out so you can know for a fact the overall condition of the car. Maybe in the mean time you should turn down the boost.

Now, see, I didn't say anything about that for a reason... ;) Ya gotta play nice when everyone just joins. The facts or brutal reality can come later as we see dyno sheets or time slips.

+1

Make sure you have enough fuel for the added boost and get it tuned. One thing that scares me is, that you haven't mentioned any fuel mods....

harnum2009 07-11-09 06:59 AM

ok by so with fuel up grades , r u talking bigger injectors or ????

lusttub 07-11-09 11:40 AM

yea...ya go n 2 need a fuel system....if da car doesnt already have one..inj..fuel rail..lines..pump

bobefann 07-12-09 12:40 AM

i would first take it to a professional to get everything checked out, then fuel sys

15psi usually requires:
- upgraded fuel system (injectors, pump)
- intercooler
- exhaust
- boost control
- standalone ECU
- wideband O2 sensor, boost and water temp gauges
- tuning

If you don't have all that, take it to a professional who knows RX-7s have them get it squared away. If you put it at 15psi you WILL blow your engine.

If I were you I'd leave it where it is now and focus on maintenance and reliability mods. You'll need them.

ok thats what i am going to do, so with the maintenance and reliability mods , what should i focus on to get the best reliability out of my car and make her last the longest , any tips ?
Thanks Dan!

Lots of tips in the 3rd gen FAQ.
