Wankel problems
The rotor seals are getting loose, I'm new to it so how could I solve the problem without spending much? Ps: here in brazil we do not have many options, everything here is expensive, thanks to all:lol: |
In universal langugae..it's called a rebuild!
|
Nothing about rebuilding a rotary engine is going to be cheap unfortunately. The seals don't get loose they wear our or break or the apex seal springs collapse etc. I would suggest a compression test if you are unsure of the engine's health.

If the car isn't running well, seek out the opinion of someone familiar with the car first. New owners who know nothing about rotary engines always blame the "seals" or "apex seals" for everything because it's the only part they have ever heard of.

I'm not sure why "nothing about rebuilding a rotary can be cheap".
If the hard parts are in good shape, then it is a gasket and seal kit plus the labour. Assuming labour is free, about $1000 US. I wouldn't say that is cheap, but I wouldn't say that is expensive either. |

Wow. Sucks parts are hard to find.

I had bought an fd with a wankel not knowing much about them, engine ended up being blown. I got quotes from 6-10k for a stock rebuild. Decided to do a 2JZ conversion instead.
|
You what? Well, for us here in the US a 2jz swap is not cheap, i would rebuild the 13b a few time before going to that swap,. I can tell you that i would sell the car before doing that swap. Dont get me wrong 2jz is a great engine, but i love my lilte 13b.
Good luck anyways. |
