Viscous and clutch type LSD Questions

I just bought an LSD from a GTU. The thing that im trying to figure out is if its viscous or clutch type. I opened up the pumpkin. What are the things to look for to determine which one is which?

Do you know what year GTU it came off of? might help to know cuz there where a couple different diffs i believe in GTU and GTU-s models

thats the thing...the guy doesnt know what year it came from. I was wondering if you can tell what type it is by just opening the pumpkin cover or if there is any characteristics that I should look for

Viscous locks up very softly. If it's out of GTU, most likely it will be an open end one.

Only GTUs has viscous LSD among NA FCs.

Except for the fact that the S4 GXL and GTU both had clutch-type LSDs standard. If the year isn't known, the model doesn't really help.
