vacuum advances on a 12a. do i hook them up or plug off?
 
sup my peeps im tring to figure out if the vacuum advances will make it hard to start.. an do i need to plug them off or hook them up lmk

also what if locking out a distributor:scratch:

Bad timing, vacuum leak, carburetor and a cracked thermal shield will all cause hard starting. I seem to remember that at idle, the vacuum advance pots aren't activated until you come off idle but I'd have to go back and research that. These aren't like piston engines. Air flow even through vacuum tubes is tightly controlled.

Usually, though, it's the carburetor. Even if it was rebuilt by rotary masters "just 4 years ago.: ;)
