Vaccum check valves
1 Attachment(s)
noticed one of these was broken while I was replacing my primary fuel rail, I found A few (mainly from mazda) but they are almost $40 a piece (not saying im not willing to pay all that but its a bit ridiculous...) and I also found some universal one way check valves at the parts store and my question would be if they are a unique thing for rotaries or are they easy to replace with something else, like what I found at the parts store, only difference is that the universal ones are flatter and not as big or long as the one in the picture.

Nope, nothing special about them. A check valve is a check valve. Replace it with brass or aluminum and forget it forever. Try and get one of similar size if you can. You could also go non sequential and delete all the check valves...... and solenoids..... and 99% of the vacuum lines

Dale Clark has some check valves that are one and done. I think if I recall I paid 35 for 8???

Dales are good too. His are viton. I bought them once upon a time.... also a good route to go

+2 on DaleClark's check valves. I think he used to sell them on eBay...you could search under key terms . Or send him a PM. As mentioned they have a viton diaphragm, stronger body and barbed nipples. Been running them on my car about 10 years now with no issues. And you're right, MAZDA's price on those is stupid.
Edit: here ya go... http://m.ebay.com/itm/93-02-Mazda-RX...%257Ciid%253A2 |
Id love to delete emission lines and solenoids. As soon as i gain the required know how to do so lol a friend of mine had the exact check valve from a left over build so it was free and easy to obtain!! I saw the dale clark ones on ebay just didnt know how good they were

If you're able to delete emissions it reduces the number of lines and solenoids by about half. BUT you need a standalone ECU, block-off plates, probably a couple gaskets, silicone or viton vacuum lines in the various sizes and several hours if you do it with the engine in the car.
