Upgraded injectors and FPD delete
 

I have a 1992 Rx7 fd3s with mild mods. Apexi pfc, Greddy ebc, knightsports midpipe/cat back, blitz bov, apexi air intakes. Think that's about it. I've changed out all fluids/fuel filter ect in the car since owning. Ever since I've bought this car I've noticed it running rich. I smell fuel from time to time and wondering what it is. I pulled the fuel rails out, tested them for leaks and they aren't leaking. I did notice the little nipple on the fpd is missing. I was thinking of making a rig to test my injectors. Any help on that would be nice. My question is, keep or delete the fpd? I have another used one that is in good shape I could swap out. Or should I just bypass it and not worry about it again. I think this is where the fuel leak is coming from although I don't think this is the reasoning for the car running rich. Lately my car has been reaking of fuel, and my 9psi boost reads 9psi, however feels like 2/3psi, also. When going wot in 1/2 gear, it'll boost to 9, then when I shift to the next gear, it gets stuck at 3-4psi and won't go higher, then lets out a weird "whoooo" sound when getting off the throttle. Would the car running to rich cause this? I'm in the process of re-doing all vacuum lines, but haven't seen any issues with them. My next question is. I have 1300cc injectors, if I put them in, would that require a tune needed on my pfc? Or can I just go in and adjust that the 1300cc injectors are in? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Smelling fuel is not the same as car running rich. Is there an AFR gauge in your car?

Running too rich will make a choking effect on the engine - it's like engine struggling (with a fluctuating engine note) to keep up with it's own speed and thus isn't making enough power too. As I said sort the AFR gauge first.
And getting bigger injectors in will require a new tune on your ecu's fuel maps.

Once you get the boost pattern and tuning sorted be careful running a midpipe with the stock twins. The wastegate is small and boost creep is a real possibility. And your ebc will do nothing for it.

Really the boost controller won't help? I lowered the boost on the pfc as well to 8psi

Boost controllers only control boost SPIKE, which occurs from opening the intake side of things. CREEP occurs from too little back-pressure in the exhaust side which overwhelms the small (internal) wastegate on the stock twins. While both SPIKE and CREEP result in over-boost and potential lean conditions, they have different causes and cures. The only two cures for CREEP on the stock twins is to remove the turbos and port the wastegate...or keep some back-pressure in the exhaust. A high-flow cat is enough.
