Turbo rx7 price

I'm looking to buy an rx7 and plan on having the motor rebuild regardless.
He's obviously asking to much considering it doesn't even run. Just want some opinions.

If the car doesn't run then you can't take it for a test drive to know the condition of the engine, electronics, suspension, drivetrain, brakes, etc. Therefore, this is not really a car but rather a collection of parts. Given that, you need to decide what the parts are worth to you. I would maybe pay $500, but those who would part it out on Ebay may spend up to $1,200.

If you intend to buy a parts car like this, fix it up, and drive it on the street, then keep in mind that you may be looking at thousands of dollars to get it into good shape, possibly even over $10K depending on what is wrong with it. The engine alone can cost over $7K to rebuild if enough parts need to be replaced. Paint is really expensive if you can't do all the work yourself, and this car definitely needs paint. If you don't have at least $4K budgeted for fix-ups then I would recommend shopping for running cars instead. This is a good website to price parts:
MAZDATRIX for Mazda RX7, RX8, Rotary Engine Parts and Accessories

From the pictures I can tell you is that the aftermarket parts are all of good quality, the turbo timer is useless so you can sell it on Ebay, contrary to the ad the body is NOT in good shape but then again it isn't a complete wreck either, the flash-to-pass lenses are missing, it looks like the front airdam strip is missing so the undertray may be missing too, the BAC seems to be missing so the engine probably ran like crap when it did run, the steering wheel is trashed, and the antenna is not even remotely correct. The $100 stereo surround needs to be replaced (this is typical), but most people upgrade to the more durable 89-92 stereo surround and 89-92 stereo grilles. The wheels are backwards but that is an easy fix, lol. Check to make sure the alternator pulley is the correct size as opposed to a racing 'underdrive' pulley. Don't worry about the missing OEM radio since it is a piece of junk by today's standards anyway.

The motor it self would cost you 1500.and who's to say it's in good condition it might run for a while it might not last you a year. The car has low miles I'd say it's a fair price just make sure the tags are up to date.

I personally have not paid more than $1040 for a 2nd gen rx7.

I wouldn't pay $1500 for that unless I got it for the intention of stripping it down and selling the parts. Even if I were to do that I would only offer him $800 lol.

I'm just cheap like that though.

OP
You will notice that your Link to the car you are inquiring about is now Deleted.
Links to Craigslist and other selling sites where items are listed For Sale are NOT allowed.

There is plenty of info you can research on the site though to aid you in your buying process,BUT this Section is to be used for TECH.
Asking about whether you should buy a car is a personal choice and not a TECH question.
So,I'll make this Painless and Close this thread up so you can get started on your research.
Good luck.
