Turbo II swap Air Pump?

Hello,
I have an 1989 RX-7 that I am doing a JDM Turbo swap on. I have it 95% complete and I was wondering what to do with the air pump. Can I delete it or do I have to have it? And if I need it what does the front hose connect to? I also have two hoses underneath the air pump that I don't know what they connect to either. Any help or suggestions would be awesome.

If you will need to smog the car, keep the air pump on or at least store it somewhere until needed. The air pump inlet attaches to the stock airbox, and the outlet connects to the ACV (air control valve). The two hoses you mention in the area normally attach to the stock plastic turbo inlet duct. If you have an aftermarket air intake, you'll need to make custom attachment points for these two hoses & the air pump inlet. A small filter on the inlet will also work as a substitute.

If you do end up removing the air pump, you will also need a double alternator pulley or a 'yoohoo belt' to get enough belt contact area on the water pump pulley. Without one of these two measures, the water pump pulley can spin free and cavitate.
