tial 38mm - 41mm wastegate

if i have a manifold thats meant for a 38 mm wastegate and i somehow used a 41mm wastegate, would it be restricted at all?

Depends on the manifold and the flange used. If it's a typical square flange, it might be as simple as grinding it out. If it's a v-band, it may not even fit.

its not square. im not sure if its considered a v-band since i assume the v-band is a circular flange?... its the 2 bolt flange for this type of 38mm: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Tial-...Q5fAccessories

and the adapter i want to use to fit a 44mm is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bille...Q5fAccessories

my question is; will the adapter just allow you to use the bigger 44mm wastegate while flowing relatively the same as a 38mm that it was intended for or will it be able to take full advantage of the new 44mm?

i know you mention it also depends on the manifold but being that its in transit at the moment i dont have a good picture of it. all i know is, it comes with a 38mm flange.

anyone have any idea??

That wastegate isn't a V-band.

The adapter will restrict flow a little. Honestly if you are going to pony up the money for a 44MM wastegate, modify the manifold to use it. The flange comes with the wastegate anyway.

Personally I'd only buy Tial stuff from a trusted dealer like ATP Turbo. On eBay, it is so hard to determine whether it is real or not. Some of the fakes are very good.
