Things to look for when buying an FD?

There are a few buyers guides in the 3rd Gen FAQ. It's linked at the top of this forum.

Generally FDs require maintenance in many areas. There is no such thing as an FD in perfect mechanical condition. The more you know about the car and the more mechanical you are, the better you can protect yourself as a buyer against deficiencies. If you're not that mechanical, take it to a mechanic who knows FDs very well and let them decide what needs done.

To that end, I recommend you shop over a very large radius, take your time, never buy the first, second, or 3rd FD that you see, and BEWARE "bargain" "project" cars.
