Does anyone know that the average price is to do this whole procedure?? and if the end result is worth it??

I cant be sure of the price, it depends if you are getting a crate engine and transmission or used ones plus akk if the wiring and computers and accessories to hook it up. if you go on youtube and watch videos of ls1 rx7's they are absolutely nasty, and i think the end result would definately be worth it.

I'm currently doing the LS1 swap after my FD engine blew.

Including the Labour it was budgetted for $15,000 Canadian.

but I'm sure the time spent putting it all together will exceed the estimated labour rates.

I'd say bare minimum $4500 doing all the labor yourself and some smart part sourcing. The average seems to be about $10-$13,000 ( including cost of car)done right. Nice LS1 swapped FCs are selling pretty cheap. A LS6 swapped FC just went on ebay for $9,000

How much it costs is a very reasonable question.

Whether it's worth it is not very reasonable. The engines are very different, so unless you're a robot you're going to find a way to enjoy the V8 more once you've spent the coin for it. The nice thing is the new AI technology is making the 2-rotor engine more pratical for larger HP applications. While you don't have the instantaneous torque of an NA engine, the high boost 2-rotor engines are pretty impressive and with AI, more reliable. It's going to be hard finding many folks with firsthand experience with both setups who can give you a truly useful opinion on that.

you can do the swap in a FC cheaper than you can for a FD from buying the hinson mounting equipment, a ls1+t56 with ecu and wiring will run about 4k depending on miles and year, i have ridden in one ls1 fc with heads and a big cam and i will say it was the only car that ever scared me LOL

I know ive got an FC so its a little different but ive got about 5k into mine so far and thats with a LQ4/4l60e and thats canadian dollars as well. If you did most of the work yourself and just bought the basic mount kit for the FD im sure it could be done with under 10k for a budget.

I can't give you an exact dollar amount but it is expensive. I'm almost done with mine and I've got a ton tied up in it. If you want to do it on the cheap, stick with as much stock stuff as possible. Don't tear into the motor, use the back half of rx7 exhaust, keep the diff stock, etc.. You may find some folks selling hinson or other brand swap kits at cheap prices to go with the latest greatest fab shop's products. Good luck!

93 FD, 160 K on the chasis, Freshly painted.

2002 LS1 with less the 50K on the motor, I have put 10K on myself.

over 360 HP

Custom Rad, Exhaust, Fuel Pressure Regulator, etc.

The cost of my swap was close to $20,000 when it was all said and done...but its totally worth it. LS1 V8, and T56 6 speed. stock diff, new tires, new everything that couldn't be utilized from the stock FD.

I just spent 10k redoing/modding my tt FD. I would love to see your car as I bought mine with the intention of doing the LS swap. I'm located around the corner from you in Cambridge. Let me know when you are available.

www.grannysspeedshop.com their kits are cheap and easy to do. when ive done them in the past ive used there kit and donor cars from junk yards for motors. you can do the whole swap minus price of your rx7 for under 2 thousand. no need to spend 8 grand on a crate motor, just by a junk car or motor out of a junk car and go through it making sure all your seals are good and do whatever cosmetic upgrades you are wanting to do. it is far cheaper doing v8 conversion than dumping another rotary motor into it. your average rotary including transmission and all that is between 1500-2000 and thats not including all the little things you need if swapping lets say from n/a to turbo. if you need help finding a donor car, give me a pm i can get one for you. i have 1 fc with rotary still because i love the motors, but i also have one with 5.0 swap just for the stupid fast fun you can have with it.
