Suspension Suggestion
Hello! I drive a 1987 RX7 with a NA 13b I need some suggestions to find some good quality suspension I've been looking around but I haven't found any please help :(

A common street/autocross setup is KYB AGX dampers with Racing Beat springs. It allows for a little adjustability but it is still simple enough that you can install it yourself and you will not need to pay a professional to tune the suspension. You can get all the parts from Racing Beat and Mazdatrix, although sometimes you can find KYB AGX dampers on discount from various online retailers.
I recommend changing the mounts and bushings at the same time as the suspension so that the old bushings do not ruin the brand new suspension. Unfortunately, you will probably want to pay a professional to do this unless you have good auto mechanic skills, a blowtorch, and bearing press. |
Depends on what you're going for. How low do you want your car? Is this mod for looks or for driveability? How much adjustability do you need? How much do you have to spend? Coilovers are always an option if you don't mind the stiffness, but I wouldn't go too cheap on them.

I settled with the KYB-AGX setup.
I had switched to coilovers but the thing is when you are just street driving they can really tax your freakin body!.If you have a bad back then you do not want to drive around with coilovers. I tried twice with coilovers and even switched the spring rates and still I found the ride was just too harsh with them. The KYB's are adjustable and "somewhat" trackable BUT If you are intending to track the car often then you would want to consider a Coilover setup. |
