stupid ? but thought i would ask

yea i just bought my 88 rx7 and im looking to do sum damage but well heres my ? i seen this turbo that boost up to 800 hp but i was wondering if i bought it is there anyway i can modifi it to have good gas milage or im just screwed in that part:scratch:

Firstly, you will be doing damage trying to build an 800 HP engine without experience.

Secondly, no... Fuel = power. You can't make power from nothing.

rxtasy3 01-19-10 07:59 AM

not if u expect to get any long term life out of the engine.

soulrider 01-19-10 08:06 AM

i dont really think 800 hp is really necessary unless your racing. maybe you should stick with the stock 200 hp :)

kevyn_rx7 01-19-10 08:15 AM

stay stock for awhile. read/learn a lot. THEN start doing work.

sk863 01-19-10 02:45 PM

well tell you the truth i have exp. i have a degree in mecanics and all but this is my first rotary engine working on i was just seeing cause i know i need a lot of fuel running to match that turbo but really you can adjust your boost to when your driving and want to race, i was just seeing if ya can add anymore parts to save gas cause im new to tha rotary but not new to rebulding cars and putting sum harsh hp behind it but really im still deciding if i should your not cause 800hp is a lot for rx7 but thought it would be fun

A degree in mechanics means squat with rotarys. I know! I went to school for auto and diesel too. I have realized rotarys are a whole different world.

rxtasy3 01-19-10 06:12 PM

from what i've read here on boosting rotaries, in order for the engine to withstand the pressure needed to get that kinda power, u'll definitely have to pin it. and possibly run carbon apex seals. it can get costly, plus those kinds of boost pressures greatly stresses the engine.

NeoTuri 01-19-10 06:17 PM

For what purpose do you want 800 hp? It would hardly be streetable.

Lance LaCour 01-19-10 06:53 PM

I agree, read up first. There are lots of books out there that can get you up to "speed."

sk863 01-19-10 08:43 PM

yea sorry about wasting ur time on that stupid answer but it change my mind and plus tha guy just sent me tha price of it yea lets just say i can buy a new car with that price lol but i found one for a good price its a 60-1 turbo for 895.00 dollars that said it is capable of 500hp which i think that is enough for now but still got to rebuild tha engine , but 2ndgencab your right about tha skool thang they didnt teach me shit about rotarys at that skool but i got a buddy that has a rx7 that is going to help me rebuild so i can learn more about them

Did they teach you shit about grammar? Spelling maybe? This is a forum. Proper grammar and spelling will go a long way in helping people understand what you're saying.
