Stud/dowel kits

Hi all, what kits are people using to stud and dowel there engines? Have seen a few kits advertised but not really seen any engines running with them and producing results (knowingly) America or uk but I'm assuming most will be America!

Studding and dowelling is typically reserved for very high HP engines. Probably the reason it's not discussed very often. :)

To be fair I doubt there is much difference between the various kits. Adding extra dowels is a fairly standard operation and is more about the machine work than the kits.

Studding though comes in two varieties. There are the kits like Turblown which simply replace the stock tension bolts. They remove the spring steel tension bolt and use studs which won't stretch like the stockers nor vibrate.

Then there are the kits such as the Mazdatrix kit which require the tension bolt holes to be clearance as the studs are a friction fit. This really prevents the block from twisting and is like super-dowelling. However it requires the rear and middle irons as well as both housings to be reamed out.

It mainly depends on your power level and requirements. There are MANY people, far more than stud or dowel, running 400+ HP on stock blocks (myself included).
