sitting motor help

Hey guys,

Have a 13b-rew that came in the roller I purchased, the previous owner was not sure if it needed a rebuild or not, just said that it smoked like crazy. My question is the car has been sitting for 10+ years and the fluids have not been drained. I know there is a possibility of the coolant possibly causing come corrosion. My question is should I even bother trying to start it up or just go straight for a rebuild? If its ok to start up are there any specific steps I should take to prep the motor for startup? I have drained the fluids and they still look pretty clean if that helps any. Id appreciate any input

if the previous owner said it smoked like crazy then i would just rebuild it

yeah I figured better safe than sorry. You think I should pull the fuel tank and replace all the lines because the car has been sitting so long?

I would rebuild the engine and replace the lines just for peace of mind. 10 years is a long time so better be safe than sorry.

Yea I want to pull the fuel tank and clean that out, what about the hard lines is it okay to just flush those or would they need to be replaced as well?

oh yeah clean the gas tank as well and you dont need to replaced them you can just flush them out just to be on the safe side

You said it was a roller...so the engine is out of the car already?

The motor was in at the time of purchase so I guess a more correct term would be non running complete car? Anyways I found all fluids still on the motor when I went to pull it.
