Shift Up lamp comes on at 3000rpm

hi guys,

I just bought this 86' RX-7 non turbo.
The idling sucks, I am working on the ground, and the previous owner fixed the TPS which didn't help at all, I will try adjusting later.

Engine revvs good, but when at load ( moving ) the Shift Up lamp comes on at 3K rpm, and fuel /ignition cut

any idea?
could it be electrical problem? cold solder problem?

Oh yeah, the Oil press gauge shows zero, i'm suspecting the sender unit is dead, will try to get hold of a multimeter unit to test.
Thanks

Seeing the shift up light at 3K is by design.

But having ignition/fuel cut is not. Check the grounds at the ECU:

Make sure that the TPS is plugged in and adjusted properly.

A full tuneup wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the reply...

I just did the Grounding, didnt help...
did a grounding from Boost sensor, Block, ECU, and the thingy on the driver's kickpanel.

I am having weird "charge" lamp when i turns with a bump sometimes, and it goes off, when it's on, the "Brake" lamp wont come on,

anyway,
the Fuel/Ignition Cuts only when above 30%(estimated) throttle.
any more then that, it just bogs down, no sound, no misfire.

and it sound like the engine can't decide to accelerate or decelerate when light tapping of throttle..

and also.

Does anyone know what is this item?
In Alldata/Ondemand, it says thats the washer unit, but it's NOT, its connected to a pump, and to the intake manifold

thanks

It is the sub zero start reservoir. Remove it and cap the intake manifold nipple.

As for your other problem, have you tested and adjusted the TPS? This is a classic symptom of a bad TPS.
