S4 N/A starting and AFM problem

Okay so long story short as i was pulling some things off my car to finish a tube front I didn't realize the the AFM had a plug that you just pulled the metal half ring thing off but i instead unscrewed the 2 screws and pulled and ruined my plug . I have soldered what i have broke back on but its not good enough. Couple of the pins are higher resistance than what they should be. Car is 1987 N/A S4. My question is can i use a NA miata AFM with my car? Ive tried doing some looking around but the only thingsI find are people with miatas upgrading their cars with a Rx7 AFM and modifying to adjust their A/F ratios. I haven't found anybody who's used a Miata AFM on their RX7. If i were to use it then would I have to adjust the spring inside?

Reason Im asking about miata AFM is our LKQ has several miatas with both 1.6 and 1.8 motors still in them. No rx7's in any of the salvage yards around here..

Well I can't say that the answer is a definite "no", but if the Miata guys have to modify AFRs after plugging in our AFM, I would assume it is not a direct swap. It might plug in, but just like our Rx7 Turbo AFM, even if the plug is the same the spring weight and the voltage measurement might be different.

Yeah, i was hoping to find someone who has done it. Its not for a means to gain power or anything its just to replace my broken one. I know with the miata guys its not much different but they modify it to get more power in the higher rpms. I'll probably get one just because its easily accessible and I'll try and play with it. The only thing i can see is if I plug it in it'll run either lean or rich. The resistance is nearly identical to our AFM plug.

You can put up an ad for your part in one of the many Classifeds or the WTB section.

*is your connector on the harness good?..you just screwed the Afm connector portion ON the part itself?

Not enough posts right now. And yeah my connector is fine. But when I unscrewed the 2 screws holding on the female part of the plug and pulled on it, it pulled out the pins and all the soldered points on the board. I've located another AFM so I should be good to go.
