S4 doors on an S5
An S5 RX-7 fc car that im going buy here in a week has a dent on the passenger door. The dash indicator for opened doors wont shut off.(left door) Even if the door is closed all the way and firmly shut. If i replace the door, im hoping it would fix that problem.
Here's the thing, its a RHD imported from Japan. So what i want to know is, will replacing the left door assembly with an s4 driver door US models fit and will it look funny? Are the doors the same door shape and sizes?
Just asking about the door assembly and not the inside door panel.

Does the light go off if you use your hand to push the button?
I can't imagine that the doors themselves would be different. As far as I know, the differences between the S4 and S5 cars were mostly cosmetic (aside from electronics and mechanicals, of course), with front and rear fascias being completely different. Bolt-on parts like hoods,sunroofs, doors and fenders should be the same. I have an S5 left fender to replace the one on my S4 car, and it looks identical.

I put an s4 door on my s5. The trim is attached different, tape on the s4 and clips on the s5. Also the speaker location is different,so I guess the inner panel probably is too, but the door I got didn’t have the panel, used the one from the s5.
both of these doors were for/from lhd cars, I can’t comment on interchangeability between lhd and rhd.

OK the car has arrived. turns out it looked better than the photos!!!
ok yea the inside door light does shut off. because the left passenger door is damaged, you just have to firmly shut it LOL.
The dent is like, not even that bad.
After i did some looking around, the switch on the highbeams itself, im not sure if its working or not. but looking at the headlamp, it just looks like a "brighter than normal lamp" (single lamp)
is the high beam harness the Orange one? because thats not even plugged in. just zip tied and hangin out. LOL
please let me know if im wrong or there are other issues i should address. because this is just all speculating.
also when reversing in grass or a soft surface, the engine sometime stalls if i dont keep moving and shuts off like a 5speed would, if you drive it improperly. Any issues? fixes? is this normal? This car atm is an automatic which i do plan to swap to 5 speed here in a few months

For anyone interested, This Thread has photos of S4 and S5 doors and does confirm what JLS 89 T2 stated in post #3 about the differences in speaker locations. I am bumping this to link the thread simply because as I was reading it, I remembered this thread and wanted to correct any misinformation I helped to spread.
