rx7 fc problems need help please. I'm new to rotors

Ok the car is a 86 rx7 13b turbo. first of I'd like to thank who ever replies and helps me out.
I have a few questions.
Firs off I have a constant beeping noise that beeps 5 times and stops. I fiddled with the steering sensor as I red on here and it hasn't stoped it. It sometimes goes away when I wiggle the steering wheel.

Also. My power steering feels very heavy at times like it has stopped working. Ive looked and there's enough fluid in there so I'm a bit stumped

Last question. On the light display where the clock is after driving for about 15 mins the cooling far light comes on. But the temp gauge isn't saying it's hot. Could that mean that the cooling fan isn't working when it should? Or does that light come on to tell u that the fan has switched on?

For the fan question, turbo models have an auxiliary electric fan that kicks on at 207º F. The light should come on in the warning light cluster when this happens. The temperature gauge should be reading somewhere at or just about half-way when this happens. If it's very hot outside and there isn't a lot of airflow through the radiator, this can happen. But typically, temps should stay within thermostat operating range (182 - 200º F), which is the 1/4 to 1/2 range on the stock S4 gauge.

Is your seat belt light on when the beeping occurs?

I don't have a seat belt light I don't think. Never had anything happen when I don't put it on. It goes away if I wiggle the steering g wheel

1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses
.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed

Regarding your powersteering you should check if the belt is loose, if it is loose and slipping the steering will get very heavy sometimes.

with your power steering issue.
Check that the pulley in not locking or check your pump...

I already looked up the beeping @ satch. But thank you.
I'm just not sure where to look for the problem.

Make sure the lines are good also. For the power steering.

sosasxrated 08-29-12 05:41 PM

as for the beeping that happens to me when im low on oil... its a consistant beep when your really low.. and when you turn the oil level follows the direction of your car and the gage lowers to opposite side and triggers the beep

Actually I have a slow leak in my power steering high pressure line. I keep filling it till I can get it fixed. but the FAQ says 4 beeps is power steering. not 3...

On the Lil power steering dip stick. Where should the level be? There's 2 Lil notches right at the tip. And one notch like half way up. Where should the power steering be filled to? Mines at the second notch at the bottom.
