Rx7 1994 bushing suspension
 

Hi!
I have doubt about bushing suspension,i don't know if buy the original mazda bushings about ($1,000 front & rear complete set) or buy the super pro polyurethane performance bushing from rx7store.net ($520.00).i want the best performance parts for my car without sacrifice the comfort of the ride.i have racing beat suspension and 18"rear & 17" front wheels.what do you recommended me, for a street weekend car.

I would go with the Super Pro kit. However, you might check to see what the Mazda kit includes. It probably includes the pillowballs for the rear which the Super Pro kit will not.

what about Powerflex?

If you buy the set from Mazda, I would not replace all of the bushings unless you see damage. Many bushings take very light load and generally don't need to be replaced. Others do take load and those are the ones you want to change.

The superpro kit is really good and a good value too. If you want to firm up the suspension over the stock design this is a way to go. If you want comfort and quiet, the Mazda bushings are ideal.

How to see wichone have to be replaced? i have to disassembly all bushing? or there is a list wich or a guide that i can follow?
I use the car for street use, but i would like to make a work a solve the problem. Is easy to understans wich one have to be replaced looking from outside (undre the car)?

Given your goals, stick with stock bushings. The stock bushings on the FD are excellent. The poly bushings are harder and transmit a bit more noise, vibration and harshness over rough roads. I have some poly bushings on my car so I speak from experience.

If you do order from rx7 store or any other vendor, make sure they have them in stock and ready to ship. Those parts are sometimes hard to come by.

Generally speaking, You look for excessive movement in the bushing by prying it with a pry bar and look for cracks in the rubber. It isn't particularly easy identifying bad bushings on the FD since they are a "pillowball" design - metal encased in rubber.

Another symptom is noises from the joint where the bushing is located.

Search the Suspension section for more threads on bushings, testing bushings and replacing bushings.
