running like its in a limp situation

I have a 90 gtu n/a 13 b driving home today about 30 miles my car started running verry rough no power and backfiring, pulled over found my spark plug wire had came off the holder and rubbed a hole clean through the wire coming from trailing coil, stopped at hardware store to splice, temporary till I could get home, went and got a new set of wires, cleaned plugs and still have same issue roughto start not revving properly. So while it was running I pulled each wire individually at trailing coil first have good spark, same with leading good spark im frustrated did I damage the coil by driving it that far. Also tryed to retrieve codes jumper wire from green test plug to ground key off ,then on engine light stays on, this car was running pretty well, before this happened, was trying to fix ,7000 to 8000 rpm hesitation, any and all knowledge is appreciated, thanks

One thing you can do is to check the spark plug from the damaged wire and see if it's wet or something out of the ordinary. Another thing is to unplug the trailing coil and see if the car runs better using only the lead coil. And you can unplug the battery for a couple of minutes and then after reconnecting it you can try pulling codes once again. You can manually force the error codes to be shown by grounding the Orange wire near the lead coil found in a Green check connector which houses just that one wire and w/key to on any error codes should be displayed.
